Anat Valdman

Anat Valdman – Program Director

Anat was born in Tel Aviv.  At the age of 18 she entered the army and served as an officer in the Israeli Air Force.  After the army Anat entered Talpiot Teachers College in Tel Aviv where she received her BA in elementary education.  She then studied psychology at Tel Aviv University until the birth of her first child.  In 1990 Anat and her family moved to the United States and settled in NY.  She began teaching fourth grade at the Reuben Gittelman Hebrew Day School, a Solomon Schechter school in New City, NY.  She was promoted to the administrative team and became the head of the middle school. For the last 16 years, she has coordinated and accompanied the eighth grade to Eretz Yisrael as their culminating school program.  Anat has been blessed with two children, Josef and Tamar who both live in Manhattan.  She now resides in Apollo Beach Florida and is looking forward to this new chapter in her life.

Anat is passionate about Israeli culture, history and Jewish life in general.  She loves to cook and is looking forward to lots of Israeli cooking taking place at Hillel.  Anat is also fluent in Arabic and hopes to build positive relationships with the many Arab students on campus to educate them about Jews, and to educate Jewish students about Arabs.  Anat’s door is always open for students and she’s always ready for a cup of coffee.  To set up a time for coffee or a coke, Contact Anat.
