Tikkun Olam in Tel Aviv-Jaffa

Are you looking for a fulfilling experience after graduation?

Want to make a difference towards peace in Israel?

Tikkun Olam in Tel Aviv-Jaffa offers English speaking Jews from around the world, between the ages of 21-29 the opportunity to live, study and volunteer in Tel Aviv-Jaffa for 5 or 10 months.

With two tracks to choose from, Social Action or Coexistence, you will have the opportunity to make Israel a better place

Program Dates

10-month, 2011-2012: September 1, 2011 – July 7, 2012

5-month, Spring 2012: February 9 – July 7, 2012 (registration now open!)

Orientation Period

You’ll begin your Tikkun Olam experience with a 3-week orientation period dedicated to Hebrew Ulpan study, getting acclimated to southern Tel Aviv and Jaffa culture, and touring potential volunteering places.

Tracks

In order to focus your volunteer and study time on the program, you will choose between two tracks, either Social Action or Coexistence.

On the Social Action Track, you’ll live in South Tel Aviv and volunteer with new Israeli immigrants, at-risk Jewish populations, refugees from Darfur and Eritrea, and migrant workers from all over the world.

On the Coexistence Track, you’ll live in one of the diverse neighborhoods of Jaffa and volunteer in organizations that promote Arab-Jewish understanding and coexistence.

In both tracks, your study days will focus on the issues that you’ll encounter in your volunteering, along with classes on Jewish identity and Israeli culture. And you’ll continue your Hebrew language studies throughout the course of the program.
